The chest is a placeable item used to store resources and items. It is unlocked from the start and useful all around at any time of the game. You can use any types of extractors or you can use inserters to get items into it.

The chest is a cube like structure with green lines on the side. The chest's four green lines on the four sides will change color based on the slots filled. When an inserter is removing/adding items from the chest, the chest will open up.

Inserters and extractors can interact with the chest by removing/adding items to it. The chest has 28 slots.
